Aetna Medicare℠ Advantage Plan

{Voice over}

Hi everyone, thanks for joining. I'm Elana from the Aetna Federal team. As you may know, last year, Aetna began offering a nationwide Medicare Advantage plan for the first time through FEHB, Federal Employees Health Benefit program. Technically, it's called Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO with an extended service area. It's a plan that allows you to see any doctor in or out of network at the same cost share, according to your plan benefits, as long as they are eligible to receive Medicare payment and accept your plan.

Now that you know that, we'll just call it the Aetna Medicare Advantage plan. And today I'd like to explain some of the highlights of the plan. Currently, over 2 million Aetna members are enrolled in the Aetna Medicare Advantage plan. And from our 2019 Aetna Medicare Advantage Group Member Satisfaction Survey, we proudly have a 96% member satisfaction rate. And our 2020 star rating for the Medicare Advantage plan is four and a half out of five stars. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services calculate star ratings each year. The plan features low premiums, $0 deductibles, $0 coinsurance, $0 copays for office visits and prescription benefits. And new for 2021, eligible members also get $900 to help pay for Medicare Part B premiums.

Currently, over 1 million federal retirees are enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B, also known as Original Medicare, and pay full premiums for a federal plan that pays secondary to Medicare. This means Medicare pays for most of the healthcare expenses before the FEHB plan pays. The Aetna Medicare Advantage plan was designed with lower premiums to acknowledge the shared cost federal retirees pay for their FEHB coverage, along with what they pay for Original Medicare. Now let's take a closer look at some of the benefits and the premiums for this plan.

In addition to benefits, the plan takes a total approach to your health by offering personalized programs when you need them most. These programs include SilverSneakers® fitness benefit, resources for living program, home-delivered meals, and Healthy Home visits.
